fold & go; a shelter in a cart

The 'fold & go' design provides urban homeless with a cart in which not only personal belongings can be stored but that is also large enough to contain merchandise, tools, recyclable materials etc. that can generate some income. The design does more however; it also provides a bench / chaise longue and a bed which is wrapped around the cart and can be easely folded and unfolded. The bed can be covered by a folding roof of waterproof fabric with metal supports in order to keep wind and rain out. The cart has no loose tiles that can get lost during its owners wanderings. On the move the cart has a rather introvert and utilitarian character in order not to stigmatise its owner. Once folded out the cart develops a more relaxed, homely and sheltering character in order to provide the owner a comfortable resting place.
